Behavioral Assessment: A Critical Strategy in Changing Problem Behaviors
Many ineffective interventions are rooted in a misunderstanding of the causes that drive the behavior. To effectively change behavior, it is essential to accurately assess the problem. This workshop will teach the core components of behavioral assessment and how this will inform subsequent interventions and management plans.

Presenter:
Dr. Lesley Chapin is the Vice President of the Pauquette Center for Psychological Services and the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) trainer for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Division of Adult Institution and Juvenile Corrections. Since 2006, Dr. Chapin has practiced DBT and clinical psychology in inpatient, outpatient, residential, correctional, and forensic settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is specially trained on protocols for treating PTSD, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and adaptations for children and adolescents. Dr. Chapin is a board-certified DBT clinician, certified by the Linehan Board of Certification. She has been providing DBT training to clinicians and nonclinical facility staff since 2012.

Nurses: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Physicians: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
NCCHC designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Psychologists: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. NCCHC maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This educational activity has been approved for up to 1.50 hours of credit.
CCHPs: Certified Correctional Health Professionals may earn up to 1.50 contact hours of Category I continuing education for recertification.
