The NCCHC Nurse Advisory Council has developed an engaging five-part series to empower and elevate correctional nurse managers. Led by seasoned correctional nursing experts, this dynamic series is tailored for novice nurse managers and ambitious staff nurses aspiring to step into leadership roles. Each session dives into essential concepts and skills, providing invaluable tools to thrive as a successful nurse manager. Topics will include:

• Leadership and management

• Human resources skills, including strategies for effective recruitment and retention, performance enhancement, and staff development

• Key organizational elements of the intake process, the initial health assessment, nurse sick call, chronic disease management, medication management, infirmary care, ancillary services, and emergency care

• Implementation, oversight, and monitoring of these critical service areas


Session 1: Leadership and Management

This capstone session provides an overall summary of the series, dedicated time for questions about any of the topics presented, discussion on any identified barriers and provide strategies on how to address them, and practical solutions to guide your success as a correctional nurse manager.


Webinar Fee:

$199 ($179 for CCHPs), includes the powerpoint presentations, webinar recordings, and CE credit - 1.0 hour for each for a total of 5 CE hours for ACCME/AMA, ANCC, APA and CCHP.


CE certificates are issued after successful completion of all 5 sessions included in the series. Please note individual CE certificates for sessions are not available.


Continuing education credit (5.00 hours) available for:

Nurses: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. NCCHC designates this educational activity for 5.0 contact hours. Nurses must attend the entire program to receive credit.


Physicians: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


NCCHC designates this Other activity (live + enduring material) for a maximum of 5.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


Psychologists: The National Commission on Correctional Health Care is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. NCCHC maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This educational activity has been approved for up to 5.00 hours of credit.


CCHPs: Certified Correctional Health Professionals may earn up to 5.00 contact hours of Category I continuing education for recertification.


Social Workers, counselors and others: When evaluating the presentation, select the “General” category, print your certificate, and use it to report directly to your certifying board.
